Arts & Crafts

PreK-3

The curriculum introduces the three year olds to phonics, language, poetry, numeracy, Bible stories, music, and arts and crafts.

Phonics

Letters and sounds are introduced by an animal alphabet friend. This friend helps the child recognize the letter and its sound. It is also designed to teach early writing skills, letter formation and practice hand-eye coordination as they trace or glue items to letters.

Language

Children love to learn new things. As such, children will develop their language and listening skills as they learn and discuss God's creation, the people, and the world around them. Topics include science, health, safety, manners, community helpers, geography, history, family, colors, and shapes.

Numbers

Children will sharpen their listening skills, follow directions, and practice hand-eye coordination as they learn number concepts 1-15. They will learn proper sequence, number recognition, and count objects.

Bible

Preschoolers will learn about God and His Son, Jesus. Selected Old and New Testament lessons are presented. They will also enjoy learning about the first Thanksgiving, the birth of Christ and Christ's resurrection.

Poetry

Children enjoy many traditional poems and rhymes. They learn these through memorization, finger plays, and reciting in unison.

Music

Music time is enjoyable as children learn traditional and newer songs. This reinforces letter and number recognition and teaches to improve coordination by using motions and keeping time with words.

Arts & Crafts

Arts & Crafts provide delightful opportunities to enjoy art and develop motor skills while they paint, glue, and color projects with seasonal, biblical and fun themes.
